Fidelity International
The brief
Ferrier Pearce was commissioned for the third successive year to create a themed room for Fidelity within the LGC Conference at the Celtic Manor, Newport. A number of key investment houses exhibit at this event and compete for the time and attention of 130 plus delegates, during the conference breaks.
The approach
Building on the previous year's success, Ferrier Pearce recommended that the tried and tested rolling competition theme, which is designed to attract repeat visits to the Fidelity room should be developed still further. Taking into consideration the target audience, the competition theme of classic television was agreed. On visiting the Fidelity suite delegates were invited to take part in identifying TV clips from various genres, which changed each breakout session.
To complete the themed atmosphere, drinks and refreshments were selected to suit the period in question. Even the room was transformed into a 50s style sitting room complete with bespoke wallpaper, graphics and oversized TV screen. The attention to detail was second to none, from the pink flamenco doll to the budgie in the cage. This all added to the overall ambience and the delegates experience.
The outcome
Out of 130 potential delegates attending the conference, 119 chose to visit the Fidelity suite at least once and over 75% visited on more than one occasion.
