Ferrier Pearce kicks off Professional Pensions Communications Forum
Over 160 delegates gathered at the Hilton London Tower Bridge on 09 February to take part in the pension industry’s first ever Communications Forum.
The event was born out at a lunch where Ferrier Pearce’s Executive Chairman discussed the need to improve member engagement with Global Pension’s Editor in Chief, Alex Beverage. Professional Pensions editor Jonathon Stapleton, in his opening address commented: ‘Many people believe that few good things come out of a business lunch but the Communications Forum is a real exception to this rule.’
A full day of presentations, led by Nigel, discussed the need to recognise employees as internal customers, covered areas including ‘Changing the communications mindset’, ‘Getting your message across more successfully’, ‘Assessing the effectiveness of communication programmes’ and ‘Supporting the communications process’.
Billed as encouraging and improving member engagement, delegates left armed with new ideas and, following this networking opportunity, new contacts that can support their communication activities in the future.
A PDF download of an article based on Nigel’s presentation ‘Learning to recognise your employees as a customer’ is available.
