Ferrier Pearce supports communication disability charity

Recognising the synergy between our strategic communications activities and Dyscover’s work with people with aphasia, a communication disability, Ferrier Pearce donated its services to design the charity’s Christmas card and winter newsletter.

Work has now started to help Dyscover create a new brand to raise their profile with current and potential members, their families and prospective supporters.

People with aphasia have difficulty speaking, reading, writing and understanding what is said. This disability is caused by a stroke, head injury or other illness, making life challenging for both the person with the disability and those around them.

Dyscover provides long-term support to people with aphasia and their families, helps them realise their potential and adjust to living with the condition. The charity runs a comprehensive programme of courses and activities. These enable people to maximise their communication skills and reduce the frustration of this isolating disability.

Glynis Wigginton, Dyscover Business manager said: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank local companies and individuals who, as friends of Dyscover, are providing us with tremendous support. Relationships with local businesses are extremely valuable to us and provide resources to which we would not otherwise have access. Special thanks go to Ferrier Pearce for donating their fantastic design skills. Watch this space for a new-look Dyscover in the Spring.”
