Opening your mind to creativity

In the short time I have been with the Ferrier Pearce family, I have had an eye-opening experience.  For instance, when reading a leaflet sent in the post to me at home the other day, I was compelled to check the punctuation, grammar and image placement on the leaflet. A couple of months prior to joining the FP team I would have taken the leaflet at face value and not zoomed in on a missing full stop in the small print or disclaimer.  This is when I came to the realisation that I will never look at a leaflet, brochure or any other communication in the same way again!

In my current role as a Client Relationship Manager, meticulous attention to detail and high quality proofing skills are essential: skills that have fast become a part of me as noted above. Yes I have in-house marketing experience, however the creative design agency angle provides me with a new perspective.  I am now aware of the processes involved in designing communication solutions for several clients as opposed to focussing on the marketing needs of a sole company.

For me, the creative flair and work ethic of the team has positively fuelled my passion for marketing communications. The myriad of deliverables used to communicate a message, from a benefit statement to a newsletter to a completely customised website, are visually exciting.  Every communication is personal to the client, whether on brand or started from scratch.  It’s inspiring to be a part of the creative process! It is also satisfying to manage a project from concept stage to finished product.  A real sense of achievement is felt when the client is happy with what we have created.

In summary the CRM role is dynamic; every day presents a new challenge. I am learning where “perfect” communication may be unattainable, customisation and the drive to achieve it certainly is not.
